In keeping with the Sunshine State’s desire to stay well removed from those gloomy southerners in the ACT, NSW & SA where they mark Labour Day on October 2^nd, Queensland and WA choose to party and celebrate the day as Queen’s Birthday.

At the helm of the realm since 1952, most Queenslanders have never experienced life under a monarch other than Elizabeth 2^nd. Together with Ian “Molly” Meldrum and the irrepressible Elton John, she remains one our all-time favourite queens.
