Introducing Media Group’s
‘Voice Talent Of The Week’.
Each week will be showcasing one of our talented voice artists.
Today we are talking to Male Talent 16. This talent is one of our favourite voices, he is a perfectionist when it comes to doing voiceovers and never lets us, or our customers down.
Male Talent 16 has done a staggering 4851 voiceovers for Media Group since joining our team in 2011. His experience and versatility lends his voice to be the perfect ‘all rounder’. You will hear his voice on a wide range of commercials from Citibank ads, playing the voice of a cat in a cartoon or spruiking about the latest deal from Red Rooster.
We caught up with him and asked a few questions -
How did you become a voice talent?
I’d always wanted to do it. I was a big fan of Robin Williams and other impressionists and I found a course that was offering training courses. I did the course and created a demo, but it wasn't until I started working in radio and began voicing dozens of ads a week, that I gained enough experience and skills to put myself out there to agencies.
How long have you been a voice talent?
A little over 13 years now.
Do you remember the first voiceover you ever got paid to do?
Hahaha I do. It was for an adult phone line. Enough said.
What’s the worst voiceover you have ever done?
See previous answer re adult phone line!
What’s the best voiceover you have ever done?
Very hard to pick one. I did some work for Stoneleigh wines that was very different to what I normally do, quiet, stripped back, almost a gruff whisper. It was put to some pretty amazing footage of a house completely taken over by nature. That was pretty cool.
Do you have a favourite commercial on TV at the moment?
I always listen to the performance of the voice actor in every commercial, but forget what the product is! Little lines, even specific words ie "en-wightenment" on the Reflex ad...I love the delivery on that. Anything voiced by Angus Sampson and Adam Zwar is normally good!
If you could voice the part for a cartoon character who would you like to be?
I already have. I did the voice of Chloe the cat in a kids cartoon called Sponky. Even one line on The Simpsons or Family Guy would be amazing!!!
Male Talent 16 is available from 9-5 weekdays, contact us to book him now.
